APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
The Detwiler Family Foundation supports organizations that enrich the lives of children and families though programing that focuses on the following areas of service:

Children and Families Experiencing Food/Housing Insecurity

Children in need of Mental Health/Medical Services
-
Education and After School Programming for Disadvantaged Children
-
Children with Disabilities
-
Arts and Cultural Programs Benefiting Children Experiencing Trauma
Organizations may apply for a grant to support specific projects or programs that will enhance the organizations ability to serve the children in our communities.
Awards typically range from $10,000 to $50,000.
Projects must be implemented by December 31, 2025.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Funds will only be awarded to organizations that can demonstrate a positive impact on children in the communities where we live and work.

Chester or Montgomery Counties in Pennsylvania

Flathead County, Montana

Fulton and DeKalb Counties in Atlanta Georgia

Multnomah County in Portland Oregon
-
Upper Valley Region of VT/NH
Grant requests submitted by organizations outside these areas will not be considered UNLESS they are solicited by a representative of the Detwiler Family Foundation to apply.
The Detwiler Family Foundation reserves the right to modify any of the above criteria if adequate documentation shows that particular projects will have significant value for our target population.
ELIGIBILTY
Grants are made only to nonprofit organizations certified as tax exempt under Sections 501(c)(3) or 170(c) of the Internal Revenue Code and are classified as “not a private foundation” under Section 509(a). Hospitals, educational institutions, and governmental institutions meeting these requirements are eligible to apply. Organizations that have completed and filed Form 1023 but not yet received an IRS determination letter are not eligible to apply. The Foundation does not make grants or loans to individuals.
LIMITATIONS
As a general practice, The Detwiler Family Foundation refrains from funding religious activities, political lobbying, or legislative activities or institutions that discriminate on the basis of race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation in policy or in practice.
